Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA), recognized March 2007. There are three categories of professional recognition identified by the Higher Education Academy supporting the UK Professional Standards Framework.
Dearing Award (University of Nottingham 2004) The University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy actively encourages staff to enhance the student learning environment through the development of both traditional and innovative approaches to teaching. To reward those staff working either individually or in groups who have made an outstanding contribution to this work the University has introduced the Lord Dearing Awards for Teaching and Learning.
National Teaching Fellowship (Institutional Nomination, University of Nottingham 2004) This is a prestigious national scheme for which each nominating institution recognises the nominee's excellence.
Academic Colours (B.Ed., Rhodes University) “A first class in both major subjects in the final year and a first class in at least half of the courses taken for a degree, or first class honours; or, in the case of a degree without major subjects, if the degree is awarded in the first class or with distinction."
